After having avoided Andy Roddick, due to a shoulder injury, Victor Hanescu got "lucky" once again. He was leading 6-2 2-0 versus Robin Haase when the Dutchman went flying and twisted his ankle. The injury was too much for Haase to handle, and the player, who came out of "qualies" was forced to retire.
Hanescu will now wait to see who of David Ferrer or Alexandr Dolgopolov he will face for a spot in the final.
