Alexandr Dologopolov, better known as "Dolgo" created the sensation at the Open de nice Côte d'Azur tournament by sending number one seed, David Ferrer packing. The unconventional Ukranian captured the first set, at which point, specialists had Ferrer winning in three. After he captured the second set 6-1 in 32 minutes it all seemed to be going in Ferrer way. But this was counting out "Dolgo". The 23rd player in the world hung tough and managed to sere out the match while being up 6-5. The win allowed him to finally beat Ferrer after three unsuccessful attempts, and qualify for the tournament semi-finals.
Dolgo will match up with Hanescu for a final berth.
